FireMon Asset Manager 5.7

Summary

FireMon is pleased to provide this overview of the new features and enhancements made for this Asset Manager 5.7 release, which is recommended for all users.

The upgrade file is now available in FireMon User Center > Downloads.

The supported upgrade path to Command Center 5.7 is from the 5.5 and 5.6 releases.

For the upgrade procedure, see Upgrading Asset Manager. 

We recommend upgrading your Scouts whenever you upgrade your Command Center. However, Scouts 5.5 and 5.6 are compatible with Command Center 5.7.
Adding a second interface in releases 5.4 or 5.5 will fail. Release 5.6 fixes this issue. Please upgrade to 5.6 if needing to add a second interface.
The Default Packets per Second has been updated from 1000 pps to 2000 pps in this release. If not upgrading to 5.7 at this time, it is highly recommend to update your PPS setting via the CLI command system interface packetrate

Highlights

  • Qualys Vulnerabilities. Measure Risk vs Exposure of Vulnerable Devices. Asset Manager now collects the CVEs of Qualys Devices. With this enhancement protect your network and prioritize your triage by:

    • Leverage Devices with High CVEs against Asset Manager discovery data; Perimeter Devices, Security Devices, Unknown Devices, Devices running Deprecated SSL versions or responding to common SNMP Credentials.

    • Enable Netflow and get an immediate view of Vulnerable devices being accessed by public internet or accessing public internet. Further enhance by enabling Threatfeed integrations to view vulnerable devices under attack by bad actor IPs.

    • Compare Vulnerable devices against newly added NIST Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog

  • Infoblox, More Extensible Attributes Added. Asset Manager now adds Extensible Attributes Vendor, Model, Version to the list of existing EAs (Site, OS, Vendor) Asset Manager Creates on Infoblox.

  • Infoblox, Overwrite Extensible Attributes. Now you can overwrite the EAs for IPs Asset Manager pushes to Infoblox. On Infoblox Integration screen, you will now see a “Update Extensible Attributes” option.

Noteworthy Resolved Issues

  • AD Users can now be assigned an API Key

  • Postgres Updated from v16 to v18

  • Resolved Error when navigating to Asset Manager Systems screen for non-admin users

  • Fixed Path Discovery not working with Custom TCP Packets

  • Device Details values becoming out of sync; for example you may have seen a known Targeted or Responding IP as False. This has been resolved in 5.7.

  • Actions for View Only User ins Systems Settings Screen were removed

Security Updates & STIG 

This release updates Rocky 9.5 to 9.6. Release 5.7 resolves common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs) and incorporates a variety of security-related (and non-security-related) enhancements.
