Remote Syslog

On the OS> Syslog page, you can add a remote syslog configuration. This setting is used to setup an external source to listen on events using syslog from FMOS.

To set a remote syslog configuration, complete the following steps.

  1. On the toolbar, click OS > Syslog.
  2. In the Host field, enter the FQDN for the remote logging host.
  3. Enable the Mode field to select the protocol to use to connect to the host.
  4. Enable the Port field to select the port to use to connect to the remote logging host.

External sources can listen over ports 514 or 6514 for either UDP or TCP.

  1. Enable the Use TLS field and select True if you will use TLS with TCP.
  2. Enable the Message Format field to select the type of message to senTrd to the host.

  3. Click the Add icon if additional remote syslog configurations are needed.
