OS

The operating system (OS) menu serves as the central hub for all configuration within the application, representing the actual settings pages that control changes to the underlying .yml files. The Server Control Panel was designed to minimize the need for direct interaction with the file system, making configuration more accessible and streamlined. The menu items dynamically reflect all configurable options available in FMOS.

To further enhance usability, information icons have been added to nearly every configuration option, offering helpful context and clarity on each setting’s purpose.

To activate a field for editing, click the Enable toggle to the on position. A blue toggle indicates that the field is active.

On the OS page, you can access:

  • FMOS update channel
  • Usage thresholds
  • Authentication
    • Kerberos
    • LDAP
    • Password Policy is where you set criteria for user account passwords

  • Metrics is used to gather performance information and expose it to Victoria Metrics. Performance metrics can be sent directly to FireMon Support or using a Prometheus remote write protocol.
  • Network is used for network configuration. You can add static routes from this page.
