Maintenance Mode

Maintenance mode allows you to stop all FireMon services prior to performing any maintenance, such as an update, to the system.

There are three maintenance-related commands:

• fmos maintenance begin is used to stop services
• fmos maintenance end is used to restart services
• fmos maintenance status is used to verify if the system is running or not

Transitions to and from maintenance mode are logged.

Maintenance Mode Disables Refresh

When an appliance is in maintenance mode, the fmos ecosystem refresh command will not make any changes to the system. Previously, this command would apply configuration policy and start services that were stopped when the appliance entered maintenance mode. This change should help administrators appropriately schedule maintenance operations.
