OS

From the Operating System (OS) page you can access a variety of FMOS configuration settings.

An information icon is available for numerous entry fields to provide more information about the type of data that can be entered into the field.

To activate a field for editing, click the Enable toggle to the on position. A blue toggle indicates that the field is active.

On the OS page, you can access:

  • FMOS update channel
  • Usage thresholds
  • Authentication
    • Kerberos
    • LDAP
    • Password Policy is where you set criteria for user account passwords
  • Backup is where you schedule routine system backups
    • Auto Backup is used to setup a scheduled automatic system backup
    • Post-Backup Actions is used to set actions to be performed if a backup succeeds
  • Crypto is used
  • Health is for the FMOS Health Evaluation System settings. The platform consists of a number of health checks, each of which defines a specific operation to perform to produce a check result. Check results are aggregated to create a health summary, providing a view of the overall health of the system.
  • Metrics is used to gather performance information and expose it to Victoria Metrics. Performance metrics can be sent directly to FireMon Support or using a Prometheus remote write protocol.
  • Network is used for network configuration. You can add static routes from this page.
  • NTP is used for time synchronization settings
  • Proxy is used for HTTP and HTTPS proxy settings
  • SMTP is used for server email settings
  • SNMP is used to enable or disable the SNMP agent
  • SSH is used for SSH settings, such as allowing weak SSH algorithms
  • Syslog is used for remote syslog configurations
