Key Performance Indicators

A key performance indicator (KPI) is a type of performance metric. Insights uses KPIs to provide a quick overview of how the domain, device group, or device is performing.

The KPIs are not actual policy data but rather a daily snapshot of the status of that data, such as the count of unused rules and the count of failed security controls. In the example of unused rules, the data stored does not identify those actual unused rules, rather, just the actual integer, which is the count of unused rules. This data is kept for the duration of your registration as it is used for trending over time.

As soon as SIP connects to Insights, KPIs immediately populate with data based on the trend time selected.

Trend

You can select to view data overtime based on 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, or Max (all-time). As you select a trend, the KPI will automatically update.

All KPI

Each KPI has it's own page, with three sections.

  • Name of KPI—detailing what the metric is identifying and it's use case.

  • Our take—an overview of how we interpret this KPI, and how you can benefit from it.

  • Performance <based on trend selected>—graphical representation of the KPI. You can hover over the bar chart to see more detailed metrics for a specific data point.

KPI Tiles

Each KPI tile has a slide chart representing how your metrics compare to metrics of other customers.

If you click the Chart icon in the upper right corner of each tile, it will switch the slide chart to a bar chart.

If you click on the tile, it will open the KPI's page.
