Workbench Agentic AI

FireMon's Workbench Agentic AI brings a guided, AI-assisted experience to rule recommendations, replacing the traditional workflow with an interactive assistant that walks administrators through each step of the process. Given a set of requirements, the assistant analyzes the environment to identify impacted devices and policies, then generates rule and object change recommendations — including rule names shaped by both the device requirements and your existing naming conventions. Throughout the process, progress is tracked in real time, giving you visibility into each stage of the analysis. The result is not an unattended change, but a clear, user-approved change plan ready for review and deployment.

No special permissions are needed, but a registered Insights license is required.

While AI is running, you can close the window during processing to continue work elsewhere in Policy Planner.

To use Workbench Agentic AI for rule recommendation, follow these steps:

1. Open a Workbench Change Plan ticket in the Design task.

2. Click Add Change Plan.

3. Click Automatic Recommendations. The Guided Recommendations window opens with a recommendation parameters that will be used for the change plan recommendations listed.

4. Click Submit. The Agentic AI tool runs.

5. You can interact with the AI assistant within the window to view recommendation details, to ask additional questions about the recommendations made such as why a specific device was chosen or what happens if another device is used instead.

6. The change plan is created.
