Network Issues Map
Understanding your network is important for accurate rule recommendations in Policy Planner.
Permission Requirements
A user will need to be a member of a user group with the following minimum permissions granted:

FireMon Objects: Network Segments - minimum of Read is needed to view the page, and Write is needed to modify or delete.

Modules: Administration and Security Manager - Write access

Device Group: All Devices or specific device groups - Write access
Access the Network Issues Map
To open the Network Issues Map page, on the toolbar, click Topology > Network Issues Map.
Resolve Network Issues
After selecting one or more From Device subnets, select one of the following options as a way to resolve missing gateway definitions.
Caution! Please be aware that accidentally combining the incorrect subnets will make rule recommendation less accurate. Overlapping IP space in your network can make this hard to spot.
The system may automatically select additional From Device options based on the first selected option.
Add a device that includes these gateways

Select the Device Type.

Select the device from the list of available devices.

The Administration module opens for you to continue to add the device as you normally would.
Create a new synthetic router

Enter a Name and Description for the synthetic router.

Click New Synthetic Router.
Add to existing synthetic router

Select an existing Synthetic Router from the list of available routers.

Click Add to Synthetic Router.
Mark as an ISP/Gateway to the Internet

Click Mark as Gateway.
Mark as Foreign/Third-party network

Click Mark as Foreign.
