Automatically Route Rules
To automatically route rules from Security Manager to Policy Optimizer, you will first create a control and then create an assessment for that control in the Administration module; because only assessments route control failures to Policy Optimizer.
The following control types support Policy Optimizer: Allowed Services, Device Access Analysis, Network Access Analysis, Rule Search, Rule Usage, and Service Risk Analysis.
To automatically route rules, complete the following steps.
- Open the Administration module.
- On the toolbar, click Compliance > Controls.
- Select an existing control or create a new control.
Please refer to the Administration User's Guide for steps on creating a new control.
- Expand the <Control Type> Control Properties section.
- Select the Send Failed Rules to Policy Optimizer checkbox.
- Selecting the checkbox will allow the system to automatically create review tickets for all rules that fail the selected control.
- Click OK.
- Click Assessments, and then click Create.
Please refer to the Administration User's Guide for steps on creating a new assessment.
- Select the control you routed to Policy Optimizer in above from the Available Controls box.
- Continue building the assessment.
- Click Save.
After failing, the rule appears in the list of tickets in Policy Optimizer .
